Allan E. Barrington, 81, Spring Hill, Florida, passed July 18, 2024 in his favorite chair. Allan was born in Orange, New Jersey March 29, 1943 to Frank and Ruth (Barone) Barrington. Allan graduated from West Orange High School and went on to proudly serve in the United States Marine Corp., serving overseas and two years at Disciplinary Command in Portsmouth, NH. He proudly volunteered for, and donated to, several veteran related charities. The family moved to Bow, New Hampshire in 1974 where he became a friend to many through his jobs and social gatherings. He went on to earn his bachelors’ degree and also coached football in Bow, Concord and Hooksett, New Hampshire and to this day is still known as "Coach" to many. Allan worked in the insurance industry for years, and alongside his sons in business together for many years. Allan also was a volunteer firefighter, Loss Control Engineer, Deputy Sherriff for Merrimack County, New Hampshire and later retired from the State of New Hampshire DOT.
Allan was a member of the Bow NH Men's club and was very proud of his years serving as State Commandant for the Gary S. Dillon Marine Corps League, speaking at many veteran related events. He also loved to collect cars, in fact he was very proud of his 1957 Buick, attending car shows in several states. Allan later moved to Florida in 2015 and surrounded himself with a group of loyal friends.
Allan sadly leaves behind, his 4 sons, Matthew (Tonya), Mark (Jennifer), Michael & Andrew (Shelly) Barrington along with 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He also is survived by his sister Marilyn. Allan’s final resting place will be at the NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH.
