Anthony Vieira, 89, of Spring Hill, Florida passed away on Monday, December 16, 2024. He was born in Nova Friburgo, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to Malvina and Jose Vieira in 1935. At his death, he was the last of seven siblings, all born on the family farm. He received his primary and secondary education at the Anchieta College, founded in 1886 by the Society of Jesus in Nova Friburgo. He left the country of his birth as a young adult to further his education in the northeastern United States. He met his wife Clara, also a Brazilian immigrant, through mutual friends in Connecticut. After a short courtship, they married in Connecticut, and their marriage produced three children. Their life together brought them to Spring Hill, Florida in 1985, where they settled. Anthony retired as a computer programmer for the Hernando County Tax Collector. He is survived by his widow, Clara, his sons David (wife: Lauren) and Erik (wife: Olga), his daughter Tayana, and his six grandchildren. He also leaves behind nieces and nephews who live in Brazil.
