MARCONE, BARRY, 63, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2013 at his residence after his battle with cancer. A native of North Braddock, PA, Barry was a resident of this area for 35 years. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during the Vietnam War. Barry has worked as a truck driver for Walmart Transportation in Brooksville for the past 20 years where he was recently recognized for his safe driving over that same period. Barry was an avid fan of Dale Earnhardt, NASCAR, hockey and basketball. He also enjoyed riding Harley Davidson motorcycles, attending air shows, going to the beach and spending time outdoors. He was a proud member of Dade City Lodge #48, F&AM, and Shrine Egypt Temple in Tampa. Barry founded and served as a spokesperson for Driving Sober to Save a Life. He is survived by his son Christopher Marcone; his sisters: Deborah Marcone and Mary (Jeff) Marcone-Ekiert; his brother Anthony (Susan) Marcone, niece Leah Marcone; nephew Cameron Ekiert; many special friends and his extended Walmart family. A graveside service with military honors will take place at Florida National Cemetery on Friday, September 27 at 10:00AM.
