Whitcomb, Betty, 95, of Brooksville, passed June 12, 2018. She was born in Malden, Massachusetts, to Frederick and Elsa Washburn (nee Minkel). She graduated Waltham High in 1940, and during the war she was a secretary at Waltham Screw Factory. Later, she became office manager at Tyler Insurance Company in Waltham until her retirement in 1985. Betty loved singing and enjoyed cruises and traveling. After moving to Florida, she took up golf and played on the 18 hole golf league at Brookridge Golf Course for years. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 59 years, Clinton “Bo” Whitcomb, brothers, Frederick and Donald, sisters, Priscilla and Jean, nephew, Ted Washburn, and great-nephew, Kevin Clancy. She is survived by daughter, Patricia Yancovitz (Alan), son, Robert Whitcomb (Mary), grandson, Andrew Yancovitz, many nieces and nephews, including Paula and Richard Clancy, who became beloved friends.
