Charles David Hulme, 69, of Brooksville, FL, was unexpectedly called home by the Lord on October 11, 2022. Charles was born in Whittier, CA in 1953 and moved to Tampa, FL at the age of 8. In August of 1972, Charles and Rebecca began their 50-year marriage. Charles attended Bible College in Cincinnati, OH and later finished his degree at Johnson Bible College in Knoxville, TN before moving back to Florida and becoming the full-time minister at the Homosassa Christian Church. In 1980 he moved his young family to Hernando County and began his 42-year career as a residential building contractor. Charles never wasted a moment and filled his time, that wasn't spent building houses, with many hobbies including metal detecting, winning storage auctions, hiking and exploring new places, riding his tractor, and spending time at his home in the mountains of North Carolina. He loved smoking meat and having large family gatherings as often as possible. Charles was an extremely hard working man and provided a very good life for his wife and
children. He was never too busy to help those in need of his many talents.
Throughout his busy life, he remained a faithful servant of God. At the Spring Hill Church of Christ he continued teaching Bible classes, preaching on occasion, leading the song service, maintaining the church building, and leading by example to the many that looked to him in admiration. His life was a true testimony to the phrase, "If you're going to do a job, do it right."
He was preceded in death by his father, David L. Hulme, mother, Reba J. Hulme, and sister, Cheryl D. Hulme. Survived by his wife of 50 years, Rebecca J. Hulme, and their five children, Christine D. Murray (Royal), Caleb D. Hulme, Rachel L. Cataldo (Dennis), Adam M. Hulme (Laura), and David D. Hulme (Elisha), 11 grandchildren, Kirk J. Turner (Tonya), Leah K.
Wildman (Matthew), Jeremy T. Adams (Milena), Seth M. Adams (Nini), Nikki K. Murray, Kanaan J. Murray, Lilli K. Hulme, Karly J. Paulsen, Beckham J. Hulme, Brooks D. Hulme, and one on the way, and 5 great grandchildren, Aria K. Wildman, Bjorn T. Adams, Ivar K. Adams, Heath R. Wildman, and Ephraim M. Adams. Well done, good and faithful servant of God. Your love and generosity will be sorely missed.
