David W Kelley Jr

December 22, 1932 — September 12, 2024

Spring Hill

David W. Kelley, Jr. of Spring Hill, FL peacefully went home to be with Jesus on September 12, 2024 at the age of 91. He was born in Philadelphia, PA. He graduated from Sharon Hill High School and spent much of his life in Delaware County where he was a member of the Collingdale Church of the Nazarene. David worked as a bricklayer (Local 12) and Custom Home Builder. Some of the projects he worked on included Betsy Ross’s House Restoration and the Franklin Mint. He was a member of the Concord Country Club for over 32 years. He moved to Florida in 1987 where he was able to enjoy playing golf year round. He was an athlete all of his life playing football, basketball, baseball, billiards and others, but his favorite sport was golf as he was an avid golfer who won lots of awards, trophies and titles. He also spent winters at his home in St Croix, USVI and was a member of the Fountain Valley Country Club. He also took pleasure in boating, water skiing and deep sea diving. Most important, family was the love of his life and he enjoyed spending time with all of them. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.


David is preceded in death by his parents, David & Elizabeth Kelley, his nephew Steven Kelley and his niece Karen (Glenn) Karker. 


Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 69 years, JoAnne Kelley, sister Florence Bryner, brother John (Norma) Kelley; his children David (Judy) Kelley, III, Pam (Bill) Couchenour; grandchildren Melissa (John) Buckley, Billy (Anna-Lise) Couchenour, David (Jennifer) Kelley, IV and Kristi Couchenour; great grandchildren Nolan Buckley and Meredith Buckley, niece Susan (Rob) Taylor, nephews Tim (Paula) and Paul (Debbie) Bryner and many great nieces and nephews. 

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
