Gina L Charles

Gina Lynn Charles, age 64, passed away on January 10, 2024 surrounded by family at Tampa General Hospital in Tampa, Florida.

Gina was born on July 11, 1959 in Oceanside, New York to Lillian and Joseph LoCascio. She grew up in Long Island, New York until age 10, when her family moved to south Florida. Gina attended Broward Community College for music education, with a focus on her lifelong passions of piano and voice. She was a stay-at-home mother until her children entered the school system, at which time she began volunteering and then working in the field of education and child care. Gina continued to express her musical passions by singing in choirs and a barbershop quartet, as well as playing piano.

Gina was preceded in death by her first daughter, Brittany Charles, her brother, Charles LoCascio, and her parents, Lillian and Joseph LoCascio. She is survived by her husband, John Charles, her three children, Roy Garretson, Daniel Charles, and Caitlyn Charles, and her siblings, Joseph LoCascio, Geri Schildt, and Maryanne Swegles (Mike).
