Roxana "Gina" Morgan (nee Rodriguez), a preeminent hairstylist in Brooksville, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 6th, 2025.
Born in Tampa, Florida, on April 18, 1945, Gina's vibrant spirit and creative talents blossomed early. She married her beloved Charles Benjamin "Chuck" Morgan in 1963, establishing their first home in Danville, Illinois and later moving to Denver, Colorado in 1965. In 1971, Gina returned to her beloved Florida, residing in the serene river town of Istachatta, where the Withlacoochee River flowed in her front yard and a peaceful pasture in her backyard. Gina's passion for hairstyling and beauty led her to establish Gina's Mr. and Ms. Hair Salon, marking the beginning of a distinguished career that touched the lives of countless individuals in the Brooksville area. Her skill, artistry, and vibrant personality perfectly complemented her professional endeavors, establishing her as a beloved and cherished member of the community.
Gina was a devoted mother and a cherished member of the Brooksville community. While she was known for her warm spirit, kind heart, and unwavering love for her family, she was also the life of the party and loved for her humor, pranks, and comic relief. Gina had a special gift for making new friends feel immediately at home almost always turning them into longtime friends.
Gina was a vibrant part of Faith Presbyterian Church and was an active member of the choir for over 20 yrs. One of her favorite moments was performing as the Ghost of Christmas Past in the evangelical presentation of “The Gospel According to Scrooge” by the Faith Church choir. She had a flare for performance and was a natural on stage. Beyond acting Gina was passionate about everything she did whether loving people, country music or the Denver Broncos. She was a giving friend and made great sacrifices to those around her who were in need.
Gina was predeceased by her beloved husband, Chuck, in 1990. Their enduring love a testament to the strength and beauty of their bond.
She is survived by her dedicated children, daughter Mary Katherine Morgan Merlino (Anthony), son David Morgan and daughter Rebecca Morgan, as well as her grandson Brantley Osburne. Her legacy will live on through the memories and love she shared with them both individually and collectively.
A funeral service to celebrate Gina's life will be held at Faith Presbyterian Church in Brooksville, Florida, on Tuesday, March 11, 2025. She will be laid to eternal rest next to her beloved Chuck at Lake Lindsey Cemetery following the church service and the family will receive loved ones and friends back at the Church following the burial.
Gina's welcoming presence and artistic talent will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Her indomitable spirit now unleashed, may she now joyfully rest pain-free and in peace.
