Gloria M Rivera

January 6, 1944 — February 18, 2025

Spring Hill

On January 06, 1944 a baby girl was born to parents Benita Hernandez and Arcadio Martinez in Cidras, Puerto Rico. They named her Gloria "Milta" Martinez. We call her "Mama". Friends call her "Mrs. G.

As a child, she and her siblings Julia, Maria Delores (Lola), Maria del Carmen (Carmen), Benita (Tita), Hector, Ralphael (Ralphy) Jose (Pepe), Arcadio (Cajean) and their mother moved to Brooklyn, NY.

On June 29, 1963, Mama married and shared a beautiful life with Genaro Rivera (Papa). They were loves of each other's lives. They shared four children, Genaro Jr., Irene, Anthony and Debbie.

Mama worked for a short period but mostly was a stay-at-home mom. Growing up in Brooklyn, NY then retiring to Florida, Mama loved dancing, country, salsa, oldies and most 60's music. She loved her trinkets, dolls, stuffed animals, flowers, butterflies, birds, puzzles, playing casino games on her electronics and her most prized possessions, her pictures.

Mama adores her grandchildren. All the way into her last days she followed one of her grandson's college basketball games on YouTube. "Yeah Biggie" she would holler at the TV. His biggest fan!

Mama became widowed 2022. Her life completely changed. She is now complete and happy again. She has gone Home to join her husband in the Kingdom of Heaven with Our Heavenly Father. Although our hearts are broken, we are completely happy for them both.

Mama is survived by her children Genaro Jr., Irene, Anthony and Debbie. Her grandchildren, Tiana, Angel, Genaro III (Doo), Kayla, Anthony (Nunu), Ian, Saquan (Biggie), Jaquan ( Smalls) and Joy'ann.

Her great grandchildren, Christiana, Jhavion, Jamien, Jayce, Jada, Mia, Jace, Anthony Jr., Liam, Maysen, Greysen and Legend. Her daughters-in-laws, Lisa and Tasha and her only living sister Carmen Colon and her family.

Mommy we raise you up in Honor and Grace. Thank you for being our beautiful amazing Mother. You are a God send daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend.

Until we see each other again Mama, we all love you immensely and will miss your beautiful face dearly. Rest in Eternal Peace my love, Your children and family.
