Gloria Rivera

Gloria Rivera, 89, of Spring Hill Florida passed away on February 11^th, 2024 at Brooksville Healthcare Center in Brooksville, Florida. Gloria was surrounded by her family and close friends.

She was born in Comerio, Puerto Rico, moved to New York in the late 50s. She was a very talented seamstress who was a sample maker for many top designers in the garment industry and an active member of the ILGWU After 40 years in the garment industry she retired and moved to Florida in 1998.

Gloria loved spending time with her family and her friends. She loved to listen and dance to her native Latin music; however her passion was her garden. She loved to plant flowers and watch her garden flourished.

She is survived by her daughter, Doris and her husband James, granddaughter, Janeen, great-grandson, Andrew, grandson Jamal  and his children, her sister Aida Rivera and numerous nieces and nephews. She was loved by a large community of friends and neighbors whom she also loved and referred to as her chosen family.

Service and Celebration of life will be Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Pinecrest Funeral Chapel from 3:00pm to 5:00pm,

Gloria will be greatly missed.
