Helen Peters was born to the late Rev. Boyd W. Scott and Jetta M. Scott, A United Methodist Minister and her Mother a homemaker, in Weston, West Virginia, on June 8, 1951.
She was immersed in the Christian community that would be her lifelong Support from an early age. She graduated at the top third of her class from the Connellsville Senior High School in 1969, having written the Senior Class Song and was President of the Year Book Club. She accepted a Clerk position with the FBI Identification Division in Washington, DC, and worked there for 1 year. She worked as a Secretary for the Department of HUD in Washington, DC for 2 years before joining her first husband (Norman Sye Kinley) in Korea, where she bore their daughter (Anita Marie Kinley). Upon completion of her first husband’s 16 month tour of Korea, she served as a Secretary in the Housing Referral Office at McGuire AFB in New Jersey, when her family was transferred to Ft. She returned to Washington DC to HUD (upon her divorce after 5 years) where she would work as a Secretary, Management Analysis and finally a Contract Oversight Specialist, completing her government/private industry service for a total of 30 years.
Helen was blessed with a godly man to help raise her daughter. She married her best Friend and God-given husband and helpmate, Richard E. Although Helen and Gene experienced a miscarriage of their first child, they together raised their beautiful daughter with patience, discipline and humility, and most of all with the love of the Lord.

She joined the choir for 4 years; assisted in teaching Spiritual Warfare Classes with her husband and Walking in the Supernatural Power of God Class taught by her daughter Anita. Helen, Gene and Anita have always cooked up to 30 turkeys every Thanksgiving to feed the homeless and less fortunate; plus worked with the 25/35 Project feeding the community. She will be dearly missed by her loved ones.
