Jim was a native of Aurora, IL and had lived in Florida for more than 30 years moving to Hernando County in 1991. He is a child of God and a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years Barbara, and six children; Benjamin Valentine and his wife Jinyan, Carrie Halfmann and her husband Chad, Nathan Valentine and his wife Preethi, Joshua Valentine and his wife Amy, Rebecca Hanneman, and Patrick Valentine.
Jim also had 10 grandchildren; Norah, Ryan, Anna, Ethan, Briana, Dakota, Roshan, Nicholas, Joslyn and Diya.
Jim was a driver with Werner Enterprises for more than twenty years. He graduated from Marmion Academy for High School and then graduated from DeVry Technical Institute. He proudly served his country for six years in the US Navy.
In lieu of a memorial service, Jim has requested a random act of kindness to be performed.
The family has requested that instead of flowers, donations to Jim's favorite charity, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, or to HPH Hospice, because of the excellent care given to him and to all of their patients and families.
