Janet Louise Carter

Janet Louise Carter, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, March 31, 2025, at the age of 83. Born in Indianapolis, Indiana on December 11, 1941, she was a source of unwavering strength and kindness for those who knew her. 

She leaves behind her “Bubby”, Archie B. Carter, her beloved dog, Max, her children, Dennis, Tony (Sharron), Mary (Thomas), Nora (Mark), and Randall (Kasey), 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, a surviving brother, Michael Gootee, as well as many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Moses and Margaret Gootee, her daughter-in-law, Sheila Adams, grandson Nicholas, great-grandson Alexander, as well as her brothers, William, John, and James Gootee and sister, Elizabeth Colvin. 

She leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter and will be forever missed by her family and friends. As per Janet's wishes, no services will be held at this time.
