Jeannine Alice McManigal

d. June 20, 2021

Jeannine Alice McManigal, 83, of Spring Hill, FL, passed away June 20, 2021, at Bayonet Regional Health Care of a sudden illness. A virtual memorial service will be held July 10, 2021, at 4:00 PM Eastern Time via Zoom. Her nephew, Bill McManigal, will be officiating. Pinecrest Funeral Home of Spring Hill, Florida, is assisting the family. Jeannine was born in 1938 in Ypsilanti, MI to Harley & Thelma (Osborn) Dysinger. She attended Eastern Michigan University, where she played in the orchestra as a violinist and where she met her future husband Charles McManigal in 1955. They were married on June 16, 1956. They went on to have three children: Dawn, Todd and Beth. On July 30, 1958, Jeannine was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses at Yankee Stadium in New York City, NY. She spent many years in her local community preaching and teaching about the Bible and God’s Kingdom, and was able to help a number of people progress to baptism. Jeannine loved studying the Bible and she remained loyal to Jehovah until death. In her spare time Jeannine enjoyed watching sports, especially her favorite teams: UNM Lobos, Dallas Cowboys, and the Oklahoma City Thunder. Her love of sports enabled her to bond with her son and grandsons, talking about the recent games, scores and highlights. In addition, she loved Jehovah’s creation and being outside gardening. She had a big interest in flowers - seeing the pretty colors and the wide variety. She loved animals, especially her two cats, which she said were just the tiny versions of the panther she would have in paradise. Jeannine was one that looked for the good in others and always saw their potential. She was a thoughtful and loving person which motivated her to do kind deeds for others, whether checking in on them when they missed a meeting or just sending a ‘thinking of you’ card. She truly loved people. Jeannine would do anything for her family and spiritual brothers and sisters but would be uncomfortable if anyone were to do anything for her. Jeannine was a loving, loyal and submissive wife, and a caring and nurturing mother. She was a compassionate and kind grandmother, and a friend ‘that sticks closer than a brother’. (Proverbs 18:24) Her grandchildren affectionately and appropriately nicknamed her ‘Super Grandma’, and many outside the family also came to know, view and love her as their own ‘Super Grandma’. Jeannine is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Charles McManigal of Spring Hill, FL; three children, Dawn Lanyon of Spring Hill, FL, Todd (Priscilla) McManigal of Rio Rancho, NM, Beth (Greg) Holsonback of Frisco, TX; six grandchildren, Eric (Jill) Sells of Tiffin, IA, Alan Sells of Tampa, FL, Brian (Laura) Safari of Denton, TX, Kara McManigal of Rio Rancho, NM, Kevin McManigal of Albuquerque, NM, and Kory McManigal of Albuquerque, NM; two great-grandchildren of Rio Rancho, NM; her older sister Lorena Groustra of Manchester, MI; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
