Margaret F Tuohy

Margaret “Peggy” Tuohy, age 85, passed away peacefully at home in Spring Hill, Florida on April 22, 2025.

Born on November 23, 1939, in New York City to John Fitzgerald and Margaret O’Hehir, Peggy lived a life filled with love, humor and compassion.

 A proud native of New York, Peggy worked for NJ Bell before retiring and relocating to Florida in 2001. In her new community, she remained active and engaged becoming a member at St. Joan of Arc Church, serving as treasurer for the Merry Widows Club and volunteering for St. Vincent De Paul Society. She also volunteered as a Guardian Ad Litem for the county court system advocating for the best interests of children.

 Peggy was known for her sharp wit, unmistakable charm and authenticity. She was the “silly” Grandma. Whether at family gatherings or beach vacations, she cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her love, humor and warmth made everyone’s day brighter. 

She is lovingly remembered by: 

7 children: Sons- John, Michael, Danny, and Brian. Daughters - Maureen, Kathleen, Eileen ….and her many sons and daughters in law (George, Ken, Chris, Nancy & Rene) 12 grandchildren: Brittany, Christina, Philomena, Louis, George, Maura, Rylie, Delaney, Zoe, Caitlin, Timber, and Cooper 5 great-grandchildren: Owen, Colton, Hadley, Khloe and Rowan Her sister, Catherine, her husband John, and her many nieces and nephews. 

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Jimmy Fitzgerald, and her longtime companion John McCann. 

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 28, 2025, from 9:00AM to 10:30 AM at Pinecrest Funeral Chapel, 3369 Mariner Blvd., Spring Hill, Florida. 

A funeral mass follows at Saint Francis Cabrini Church at 5030 Mariner Blvd., Spring Hill at 11:00 AM. 

Peggy’s legacy endures in the hearts of those she touched. She was one of a kind and will be deeply missed.
