MASON, MARILYN LOUISE, age 83, of Brooksville, passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at HPH Hospice. She was born on May 8, 1930 in Canton, Ohio to the late William Edison Oyler, Sr. and Ruth Agnes (Wingate) Oyler. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Jill Elizabeth McKee; sisters, Joanne Harting, Ellamae Iverson and Shirley Kirkland; brothers, William Edison Oyler, Jr. and Kenneth L. Oyler. Marilyn grew up in Crystal River, Florida and graduated from Crystal River High School in 1948. She attended Tampa School of Business. Marilyn married John Forno Mason, Sr. on September 29, 1961. She attended The First United Methodist Church in Brooksville, where she was a longtime member of the church choir. She was also a member of the Junior Service League. She was a devoted and loving mother to her five children and a caring presence in the lives of her ten grandchildren. Those who knew her enjoyed her fun-loving personality. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, John; four children, Linda C. Ray, Diana L. Eagan and her husband, Tom, John F. Mason, Jr. and his wife Kathy, and Robert W. Mason; grandchildren, Brittany Kathryn, Kristina Lynn, Kirby Elizabeth, Michael Ryan, Lauren Kathryn, Thomas William, Natalie Elle, Natalie Taylor, John Wyatt and John Dylan; great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Jo, Karli Rae, and Carter Richard. Marilyn will be dearly missed and remembered by her family and friends. Visitation will be on Monday, June 24, from 6:00-8:00PM. A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, June 25, 11:00AM, at The First United Methodist Church in Brooksville. Interment to follow at Brooksville Cemetery.
