Brennan, Marlene D., 79 Spring Hill, Florida, entered peacefully into the Kingdom of Heaven on September 29, 2012 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice. She was born on August 1, 1933 and previously lived primarily in Chicago, Illinois. She was married to James Brennan for 46 years. They shared a home filled with love and laughter in Spring Hill.
She was a beloved mother to Diane Brennan Lundh, Mike Brennan, Eileen Brennan Walls and Mary Beth Brennan Ochsenfeld. Also a grandmother of 7, Erik and Brian Lundh, Lucas and Nicole Brennan, Kevin, Sean and James Walls were blessed to have her in their lives.
She was an devoted Catholic and active member of St. Francis Cabrini Parish. She was an accomplished artist and bridge player. She enjoyed Stage West, good music and outdoor fairs. Her favorite activity was anything that included her family and most notably her grandchildren. Filling her home with family or friends gave her the most joy. Marlene and Jim contributed to a yearly holiday toy drive via Catholic Charities for more than 10 years. They spent the year gathering dolls from thrift shops and yard sales. Marlene cleaned each doll individually, washing and dressing each separately. Every doll came in its own carrier or hand-made cradle and often had a change of clothes. They enjoyed this activity as much as the children receiving the gifts. They always “had the babies” throughout the house during the course of the year bringing questions and smiles to the faces of visitors as Marlene would lead them through the house sharing the progress of the project. They touched the lives of countless children with this effort, which still continued on a smaller scale after Jim's death.
