JONES, RAY V. JR., 90, Spring Hill, died October 16, 2013. A native of Allendale, NJ, Mr. Jones moved to the Spring Hill area from Hunterdon County, NJ where he had lived for 18 years. Prior to coming to Spring Hill, he served as a Sunday School teacher and Deacon at Bethlehem Presbyterian Church in Grandin, NJ. In Spring Hill, Mr. Jones was an active member of Mariner United Methodist Church for 23 years and a volunteer for Oak Hill Hospital for 21 years. He served in the United States Army during World War II. Survivors include his wife of 33 years Margaret Jones (nee O'Connell), his sons: Ray "Van" Jones, III and his wife Patricia, Thomas Jones, and Robert Jones; his daughters: Amy Couch and Carol Fox and her husband Floyd; 10 grandchildren: Laura Jones, Brian Jones and his wife Lilian, Mark Jones, Jason Jones, Eli Jones, Cheri Couch, Chantelle Couch, Nathan Fox, Jacob Fox and Antonia Piccoli; 5 Great Grandchildren: Jasmine Devant, Kailey Devant, Santo Salinas, Joey Jones and Simon Jones. Friends may call on Monday, October 21, 2-4 & 6-8 at Pinecrest Funeral Chapel. 3369 Mariner Blvd, Spring Hill. A service celebrating Mr. Jones' life will be on Tuesday, October 22, 11AM at Mariner United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations to Wounded Warrior Project.
