Robert Gerald Beckner

Robert Gerald Beckner (Bob) 89 of Spring Hill, Florida went to be with our Lord on October 30^th, 2023 ending a long-term battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Bob was born on March 19, 1934 to Harry and Maude Beckner in Shively, Ky. He moved to the Brandon-Tampa, Fl area, graduating from Brandon High School. Soon after, he served in the Army, based in Virginia where much of his time was spent in Greenland.  After an honorable discharge, he joined the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Department where he ultimately retired after 25 total years of service. He continued his legacy of service with his wife Linda at Mariner United Methodist Church.

He is preceded in death by both parents, 4 brothers and one sister. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Linda Keyes Beckner, and a perfectly blended family of 5 children, Rhonda Costley, Tammy Brazeal, Lori B Lynch, Donny Brass, and Larry Brass (Julie) as well as 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was a loving, serving, rock in our family deserving all of our respect and love. We will miss him but know he has won the war joining with loved ones in God’s hands.

A private family service will be held at Pinecrest Funeral Home in Spring Hill, FL on Monday, November 6^th. He will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery.
