Robert "Bob" R Parenteau

From his home in Brooksville Florida, he went to be with his Lord on September 30, 2023 at the age of 96.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Gwendolyn Parenteau (Reitzel).  He is survived by his three sons Scott Parenteau (Brenda) of Milford, MI, Marc Parenteau of Winston NM and Brian Parenteau (Donna) of Lenox MI.  He also cherished 8 grand children and 4 great grand children.

Bob was born on September 15, 1927 to Eloi and Clara Parenteau of Roseville Michigan.  In his teens, he played many sports including football, baseball and his lifelong passion, golf.  He joined the U.S. Merchant Marines at a young age and proudly served his country in the Pacific theater of World War II.  After the war, he returned to Michigan to complete his education where he met Gwen Reitzel, the love of his life and they married and raised their three sons.  They enjoyed exploring new places and lived in many homes in Michigan, Tennessee and finally Florida where they were blessed with a long, happy and active retirement.

In addition to his expertise in home building and sports, Bob was an accomplished draftsman and engine designer.  He spent most of his career at General Motors and retired from Chevrolet Engineering as the Executive responsible for engine design.
