Robert Carl (Rob) Poppke was born to Natalie and Robert Charles Poppke in Orange, New Jersey January 15, 1945. Rob passed away April 2, 2023.
Rob lived an extraordinary life marked by a fulfilling career in aviation, loving family, true friends and respectful colleagues. Predeceased by his mother and father, Rob leaves behind his wife of 31 years, Kim, son, Connor and six siblings: Susan, Natalie, Heather, Laurie, Richard, and Donald.
After high school, Rob served in the U.S. Air Force. From there, he learned to fly fixed wing aircraft, launching a 40-year career as a professional pilot. Flying exclusively corporate, Rob traveled the world operating a variety of jets. As a captain, he enjoyed flying with dozens of fellow crew members, mentoring some.
In 2007 Rob retired from flying and moved to Florida, the last of many residences and the first to include palm trees. Here, he pursued his interest in boating and enjoyed a quiet life with his wife and son.
As the faint contrails fade at the far edge of the sky, we watch and wish you Godspeed, Rob,
