Roger G. Sabo

SABO, ROGER GILLERT, 77, Spring Hill, died on October 19, 2016. He was born November 17, 1938 in the Sharon Connecticut Hospital and lived in Dover Plains, NY. He was educated at Dover Plains High School and at Dutchess Community College. Mr. Sabo served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Gatling DD 671 and the Grand Canyon 28, a Destroyer Tender. On December 9, 1961, he married his wife Doris (nee Fromm). He was a member of the J.H. Ketchum Fire Company and the Mid Hudson Valley Corvette Association. Mr. Sabo retired as Plant Superintendent from Wassaic Developmental Center in Wassaic, NY after 34 years of service. He moved to Spring Hill, FL in January 1994. Mr. Sabo is survived by his wife Doris of 55 years, 2 children: Carolyn (Jim) Williams of Hillsdale, NY and Patty (Greg) Chubon of Sugar Land, TX; sister-in-law, Eva (John) O'Brien of Houston, TX, whom he and Doris helped raise; and 4 grandchildren: Britney and James Williams, Lauren and Alexis Chubon; great granddaughter, Eliana Williams, his sister, Dale Eichholz of Oakdale, CT; brother-in-law, John (Jane) Adams; and sister-in-law, Helga Demarais. Friends may call on Saturday, October 22, 2:00-4:00PM, at Pinecrest Funeral Chapel, Spring Hill. Mr. Sabo will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery on Monday, October 31, at 1:00PM.
