Stephen (Steve) Smith, 73 Spring Hill Florida after a long battle with cancer went to be with those who went before him to be with their heavenly father. Steve was born in Indianapolis Indiana to proud parents Vestal and Mildred (Kord) Smith on December 27, 1948. He grew up in Indiana where he graduated South Port high school, then attended Purdue University before serving in the US Navy during the Vietnam war. He graduated from Spartan school of Aero-nautics in Tulsa Oklahoma, then began his career with McDonnell Douglas which later became Boeing North America where he worked before retiring in 2006. When he moved back home to Indianapolis Indiana he began working for Raytheon where he finished his career and retired with his wife and uncle Don Hall to Sunny Florida in 2011. Survivors include his loving wife, Tammye, daughter, Kimberly Smith, son, Matthew Smith (Chastity), daughter, Angel Landrum, daughter, Raynee Gill, 11 grandchildren, Tyler Smith, Ian Smith, Destiny Smith, Aiselyn Smith, Alexis Smith, Ashlyn Smith, Kaylee Smith, Matthew Mizera, Jillian Landrum, Hayden Gill, Harrison Gill, and 3 great-grandchildren, Aubree, Elianna, Jordan and his little Schnauzer Sissy. Steve was Protestant by faith and following closely behind faith and family was a great passion for all things mechanical, technological, and automotive, led him to a long dedication to weekends spent at RC car tracks and various events with his many friends. Steve was and his family will be forever grateful to many friends and caregivers who so generously extended their thoughtfulness and generosity in so many ways.....enriching his life with their kindness. A true Patriot, Steve will have a military Honor Guard interment of cremains at a later date.
