Sylvia Baxter

Baxter, Sylvia, 85, of Brooksville, Florida passed on Monday, January 20, 2014 at HPH Hospice care Center. A native of Tennessee, born October 19, 1928 to the late Edward and Adeline (nee Hipshire) Hurst, Mrs. Baxter has been a resident of this area for many years. She was a Baptist by faith and a homemaker, lovingly caring for her family and her home. She enjoyed drinking coffee, working crossword puzzles, and watching both Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. Sylvia is survived by her children: Charlotte Curtis, Linda (Richard) Hotchkiss, Janis Walker, Peggy Smith, and Bud Thompson; 11 Grandchildren; 13 Great Grandchildren; and 1 Great-Great Grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband Hubert in 1985. Friends may call from 6-8 PM on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at Pinecrest Funeral Chapel – Spring Hill. There will be a service celebrating her life on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Pinecrest Funeral Chapel – Spring Hill. Following the service, Mrs. Baxter will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Brooksville Cemetery.
