She is survived and sadly missed by her adoring daughters: Virginia Weber of Philadelphia, PA, Debra (David) Giafaglione of Lexington Park, MD, and Dawn (John) Cody of Hudson, FL. She also leaves behind 4 grandchildren: Christopher Weber of Fayetteville, NC, Matthew (Julia)Weber currently serving at Ft. Eustis, VA, Amy (Anthony) Foster of Philadelphia, PA, and Angela Araujo (Max Webber) of Philadelphia, PA; 2 great grandchildren, AJ and Ava Foster of Philadelphia, PA, a brother Frank DeWald, and many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 52 years Harold V. Yentzer.
Vi was born in Abington PA on June 7, 1933 to Leonard and Catherine DeWald. She resided for many years in Feasterville, PA before her husband retired and together they moved to the sunny climes of Spring Hill, Florida. Vi was known for her sparkling blue eyes, her fun loving, cheeky sense of humor, and the kind and caring way she treated everyone she met. Her many loves and interests included dogs (especially collies and shelties), soap operas (her "stories"), vacations and travel with her husband (mostly to see lighthouses in New England or parrots in Florida), and big band and swing music. Her idol was the crooner Jerry Vale who she saw perform and met many times. She also played the piano and was a member of the Hernando Jazz Society. And she enjoyed dining out at her favorite restaurant, Guido’s, where she was so loved that she had a special booth reserved for her.
But most of all Vi loved her family and being a devoted wife and mother. She came from a bygone era exemplifying the mother who was home awaiting her children after school and having a hot home cooked meal on the table when Dad came home from work. She was so deeply loved and will be sorely missed by her family and her many friends.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Vi's name to the Humane Society of the Nature Coast, 7200 Mobley Rd. Brooksville, FL 34601. (352-796-2711) https://humanerescue.org or by using the link below.
The family would like to express thanks and gratitude to all those at Mimi's Care Cottage who gave such loving care to our mother
