William John Walsh, beloved husband, devoted father, grandfather, and uncle passed away at home with loved ones by his side on November 9, 2021.
He was 84 years old. William was a proud U.S. Army veteran, born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. In his daughters' own words: he was extraordinarily good hearted, kind, patient, intelligent, and selfless. Most beautiful blue, Irish eyes. Wonderful sense of humor. A passion for baseball since he was a kid, and a proud, devoted Mets Fan. Loved bird watching and a closet weatherman. He was a very talented drawing artist.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Maria Walsh, his daughters, Claudette Huerta and April Rizzo, grandchildren, Elaina Huerta, Evan Huerta, Mia Rizzo, and Cole Rizzo, and many nieces and nephews.
He made a tremendous mark on everyone's life that he touched, and will be with us always in spirit.
Arrangements are being made for a private burial at a national cemetery with military honors.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made at the Amazin' Mets Foundation.
