John Desmond

1946 — February 11, 2021

Jack M. Desmond passed away peacefully on February 11, 2021 in Hospice with his daughter by his side. Jack is survived by his daughter Jackie Cole, son Michael Desmond, sister Jill Tartaglione, and grandchildren Ryan, Brayden, Gavin, and Scarlet. Jack grew up in Ronkonkoma NY. He got his associates degree and owned the Jack Desmond Allstate Agency. Jack was a member of The Moose Lodge and Elks Club. He was a proud member of the Harbor Hills Country Club, Bellport Country Club, and Pine Ridge Country Club. He lived most of his life in Coram, NY. He moved to Brooksville Florida when he retired. Jack loved to play golf. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, country western dancing, watching baseball, and basketball. He was known to be a true character with a big personality. He always kept the people around him laughing. Jack will now be playing golf in the heavens above, watching over his children, and grandchildren. He will dearly be missed by his family, friends, and all who loved him. May he rest in peace. Remembered Joy Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free! I followed the plan God laid for me. I saw His face, I heard His call, I took His hand and left it all... I could not stay another day, To love, to laugh, to work or play; Tasks left undone must stay that way. And if my parting has left a void, Then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss... Ah yes, these things I, too, shall miss. My life’s been full, I’ve savored much: Good times, good friends, a loved-one’s touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief— Don’t shorten yours with undue grief. Be not burdened with tears of sorrow, Enjoy the sunshine of the morrow.
