Diane Jean Heaps

1960 — March 19, 2021

Diane Jean Heaps was born on March 23, 1960 in Wilmington, DE. She graduated from William Penn High School located in New Castle, DE. She fell madly in love and married her husband, Gary Heaps, the love of her life in 1985. They spent 35 wonderful years loving each other with all their hearts. Every year was filled with the most fun a couple could have. They cherished each other every single day they had together. The jokes and playful banter never ended with those two. On several occasions, they would pick up their daughter from the airport dressed as elves, pandas, and even monkeys. She had so much love to give. She spoiled her daughter, Jami, and granddaughter, Erica, the most. They were her “GIRLS” She loved traveling and visited over 20 islands in the search for new adventures and sights. When she came home, she was always greeted by her Norwegian Elk Hound Dogs, the cutest puppies ever. At home she enjoyed gardening and crocheting blankets for her family and friends. Anyone having a baby could expect to get a baby blanket from Diane. She worked in health care most of all her life. She was a generous woman and giving back to the community was something her and her husband enjoyed doing. She held a business office manager role at an assistive living facility in Spring Hill, spreading joy to all the residents. Diane is preceded in death by her father Omar Murrell and her mother Catherine Murrell. She is survived by her loving husband, Gary Heaps; her amazing daughter, Jami Rexrode and son in law Jason; her beautiful grand-daughter, Erica Murrell-Pace and future grandson in law, Brandon Stewart; her brother, Joseph Murrell and sister-in-law Michelle; her nieces, Rebecca Murrell, Angela Murrell and Kelly Knight.
