Villatoro, Cheryl - 64, of Brooksville, Florida, passed away on January 5th, 2022 after a brief illness. She is survived by her brother Robert (Debbie) Whalen, sister Lori (Sandy) Randall, brother Chet (Darla) Booth, III, Aunt and Uncle, Allan (Mary) Booth and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews. At Cheryl’s request, no service or gathering will be held at this time. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your local animal shelter in Cheryl’s name. Cheryl was born in 1957 in Buffalo, NY. She graduated from Hamburg, New York High School and soon after set out to live life joyfully and abundantly. She loved music, especially the songs of the 1950’s and 60’s. She soon became a singer in a local band and in 1985, did some studio music recording with the band. She also DJ'd in various places throughout the city of Buffalo thru the 1970s and '80s. In the early 1990’s, Cheryl moved to Florida and quickly discovered it was where she wanted to be. Soon after she went on to earn her business degree and began working for the State of Florida Department of Child and Families as a Social Work Case manager. She retired from her career in 2018. Those that knew Cheryl will agree she was a person who loved life and making happy memories with friends and family. She was a caring, loving person and showed that over and over again by the many things she did for others in need. She took care of her mother in her later years and strived to make her days happy and memorable. She helped out friends and neighbors whenever she could. Cheryl had many talents and hobbies. For years she made craft items such as home linens, jewelry and floral arrangements. On any given day, you could find her sewing up some new curtains for her windows, redecorating a room or making scrapbook/photo slideshows on DVD for family. Cheryl had a passion for landscaping and decorating her yard. Many complimented her ability to create a beautiful floral oasis in her back yard, which served as a backdrop for her many fun themed summer parties she would throw. She would decorate and make all the food. Her parties were always complete with a great selection of music, games and had a “theme” to them. Often, Cheryl, her mother and friends would enjoy playing Shanghai Rummy and Bingo. Her love of Disney took her to the theme park in Orlando many times. Her favorite season at Disney was Christmas time. Cheryl lived life freely and with passion. She enjoyed being retired in Florida with the beautiful weather and the wonder of what each new day would bring. Her family was very important to her and giving to others was something she did naturally from her heart. No matter what was going on in life, she always found a way to make the most of her life each and every day. She is greatly loved and will remain in our hearts always.
